TRUE OR FALSE
"But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD." - Joshua 24:15
As of late in my daily Bible reading one particular thing has come up repeatedly: FALSE DOCTRINE. The specific verses that stick out are found in 1 Timothy chapter 4 verses 1-5.
"Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons. These people are hypocrites and liars, and there consciences are dead. They will say it's wrong to to be married and eat certain foods. But God created those foods to be eaten with thanks by faithful people that know the truth. Since everything that God created is good, we should not reject any of it but receive it with thanks. For we know it is made acceptable by the word of God and prayer."
Later on it says...
"Do not waste time arguing over godless ideas and old wives' tales. Instead, train yourself to be godly." - 1 Timothy 4:7
I find these scriptures really interesting because I see people "leaving the faith" all of the time in modern day society. People are choosing to live the lives that they believe works for them. Everyone wants to be "free" and live freely. They want to live a good life -- but just not incorporate God into it.
The first thing that we all need to know as Christians is there is only one Lord, one faith, and one baptism. (Ephesians 4:5) Second, the only way to the Father is through Jesus Christ. (John 14:6) This means that anything else is not true. Simple as that. You can't believe in more than one thing.
That's like believing two teams are going to win the SuperBowl. It can't happen. There can only be one winner. Pick one.
You can't decide what you want to be true and what you don't want to be true. It doesn't work like that. We as humans have a tendency to try to justify things to work out in our favor by covering it up to seem like it's good. We are all terribly mistaken.
"No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other; or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." - Matthew 6:24
In the beginning the enemy tricked Eve into sinning by giving her false doctrine.
Many kings in The Bible fell because they followed false doctrines.
When Jesus was tempted in the desert, the enemy tried to trap Him by using false doctrine (the enemy failed).
Clearly the enemy likes trying to get people to follow things that aren't true. You can't always follow the crowd and what they are following. "For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter into it. " (Matthew 7:13)
"For a time is coming where people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths." - 2 Timothy 4:3-4
Does that sound like it's happening now?
Don't be one of those people.
"But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don't be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry that God has given you." - 2 Timothy 4:5
Don't let people trick you into believing you can live a holy life without God. The Bible says that Jesus is the way the truth and the life. (John 14:6) As a matter of fact, JESUS SAID THAT HIMSELF. So if Jesus is the truth and you turn from him, then what are are you believing in? It can't be true and false at the same time.
Choose today whom you will serve. I suggest you serve the Lord.

Also, if you haven't already made the decision to make Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior, I suggest that you make that decision today!
"If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." - Romans 10:9
After that -- join a good faith based Bible based church -- get baptized -- read The Word everyday! Pray everyday! Trust me, I did it. It's still and will forever be the best decision that I have ever made in life!
