The art of being content.
I'm starting to see my blessings!
One of the hardest things in life is growing up. My pastor always says "Change is inevitable, but growth is optional" and he's very correct in that statement. The hardest part of growing, however, is wanting to grow. Sometimes when you really look at life and what life requires -- you want to just go back to being a baby again with no worries.
However, things do change regardless if you grow up or not, and you will soon find yourself in a situation where you feel stuck. It's like you want to move forward, but you're afraid. You want more in life, but you don't know how to get it. (Especially in your twenties.) People are telling you that you need to figure life out. You have NO IDEA how to figure life out. Fortunately, life is not for us to figure out.
In fact, God doesn't want us to figure life out. He wants us to trust Him with our lives.
Isaiah 46:9-10 says "Remember the former things long past, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God and there is no one like Me, declaring the end from the beginning..."
God is omnipotent. Meaning God knows everything. Literally everything. So when it comes down to our lives - like this bible verse just stated - He knows the end of our lives from the beginning of our lives. So why should we try to figure things out when God already has everything figured out?
"then I saw all that God has done. No one can comprehend what goes on under the sun. Despite all their efforts to search it out, no one can discover it's meaning. Even if the wise claim they know, they can not really comprehend it." - Ecclesiastes 8:17
The person that wrote that last bible verse was King Solomon. David's son. You know, David and Goliath? Yeah, his son. What's so special about Solomon? Thanks for asking! I'll show you!
"Now God gave Solomon wisdom and very great discernment and breadth of mind, like the sand that is on the seashore. Solomon's wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all the sons of the east and all the wisdom of Egypt. For he was wiser than all men, than Ethan the Ezrahite, Heman, Calcol and Darda, the sons of Mahol; and his fame was known in all the surrounding nations...." - 1 Kings 4:29-31
Further up in The Bible we see where God Himself asked Solomon want he wanted, and Solomon asked for wisdom. He could've asked for ANYTHING. He asked for wisdom. God gave it to him - as you can see in the verse above.
I say all of this to say -- even one of the wisest men to walk on earth admitted that NO ONE can comprehend what is going on in the earth.
He's still human though. So let's see what the actual wisest man to ever walk on earth said.
"So don't worry about these things, saying, What will we eat? What will will we drink? What will we wear? These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your Heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God, above all else and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need." - Matthew 6:31-33
#JesusSaidIt
Ok so Isaiah 46 stated "God knows the end from the beginning"
Ecclesiastes 8:17 stated "No one can comprehend what goes on under the sun"
and Jesus says "Seek the Kingdom of God and live righteously and He will give you everything you need."...
In other words, chill out. Relax. God's got this.
If you read my previous post FLU GAME JORDAN you would know that this has been a super rough year so far. However, things are good. I was about to say "Things are looking up", but things have never really been down. God is in control, and when He's in control we are in good hands!
You have to get to a point in life where you are content with what life has given you no matter what. It may not be what you want, but who knows, maybe it's what you need. If I've learned anything in life (especially this year) it's Jehovah-Jireh. That means the Lord Will Provide. God always provides right when you need it. With this being a known fact, we shouldn't have to worry when things seem to be going south. God WILL provide. Repeat that to yourself everyday. God WILL provide. Jesus said that our Heavenly Father already knows all of our needs. If we seek FIRST His Kingdom and His righteousness, He will give us all that we need. God WILL provide. Keep saying that. Say it out loud. Don't just say it to yourself. Say it out loud so your enemies can hear it. Scream it if you have to. Go ahead, do it. Don't just say it - BELIEVE it. Once you believe it and feel it in your spirit, relax. Enjoy the peace that only God can provide.
"So neither the one that plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow." - 1 Corinthians 3:7
God Bless.
